This page explains how TreyTech charges for its work: what you pay up front, what recurs, how recurring work is billed and cancelled, and how refunds are handled. It applies to the TreyTech website, the TreyTech client app, and the TreyTech Pros portal.
This page describes our billing practices. Your signed agreement or quote controls if it says something different, and our
Terms & Conditions govern the engagement itself. Recurring purchases made inside the TreyTech app are billed by Apple through your Apple Account, not by us.
01 Overview
TreyTech work is priced three ways, and most clients use more than one:
- Creative Consult fee - a one-time charge that opens an engagement.
- Fixed-fee project - a scoped piece of work with an agreed total, billed on milestones.
- Subscription or retainer - recurring monthly work such as a content engine, a podcast season, ongoing site care, or Studio Pro access.
We do not bill hourly and we do not invoice for work outside a signed scope.
02 Creative Consult fee
Every engagement starts with a Creative Consult. The fee is charged when you book:
- Individual - $150, one time.
- Business & Enterprise - $650, one time.
The consult fee is non-refundable - it pays for the strategy session and the planning work that follows it. If you move forward with a project, the full amount is credited against your first project invoice.
Rescheduling is free with at least 24 hours notice. A no-show or a same-day cancellation consumes the fee.
Not a mutual fit? You get your money back. If we decline the project, cannot take it on, or we both conclude after the consult that TreyTech is not the right studio for the work, the consult fee is refunded in full - the non-refundable rule above applies only when you choose not to proceed with work we are prepared to do. Refunds are issued to the original payment method within 5 business days, and we still send you the strategy notes and a referral to a better-fit partner where we can.
03 Fixed-fee projects
Project work is quoted as a fixed fee scaled to scope, agreed in writing before work begins.
- Deposit - typically 50% at signature, which releases the project into production.
- Milestones - the balance is billed against the milestones listed in your agreement, visible in your dashboard as each one advances.
- Change orders - new scope is quoted separately and added only with your written approval. Nothing is billed silently.
- Pass-through costs - licensed music, stock, print runs, hosting, paid media, and partner talent are quoted at cost and identified in your agreement.
Standard payment terms are net 15 from invoice date unless your agreement says otherwise.
04 Subscriptions & retainers
Recurring work is billed monthly in advance on the calendar day you started, and renews automatically until cancelled. Examples include content engine retainers, podcast production, website care plans, and Studio Pro.
- Term - month-to-month unless your agreement states a minimum term (for example a 12-episode podcast season).
- Cancellation - effective at the end of the current billing period. We do not prorate a partial month.
- Unused capacity - retainer hours, clips, or episodes do not roll over past the month unless your agreement says they do.
- Pausing - a retainer can be paused once per 12 months for up to 60 days by request in writing.
05 Podcast season subscriptions
Podcast work is sold as a season subscription rather than per episode, because production, distribution, and artwork run continuously across a season.
- What a season covers - show development and branding, a set number of produced episodes, episode artwork and audiograms, distribution setup and feed management, and monthly performance reporting.
- Billing - one monthly charge for the length of the season term. A 12-episode season is billed across its production months, not all at once.
- Minimum term - a season subscription runs to the end of its committed episode count. Cancelling early stops future episodes; episodes already produced or in production remain payable.
- Renewal - at the end of a season we either roll into the next season at the then-current rate or move you to month-to-month maintenance, at your choice. We ask before renewing.
- Distribution and hosting - third-party hosting and distribution fees are passed through at cost and continue only while your subscription is active.
- Your feed - your show, episodes, and RSS feed remain yours. If you cancel, we hand off the feed and masters at no charge.
The same model applies to other continuous-output work: video packages, newsletters, and social content engines.
06 Payment methods
We accept:
- Apple Pay® - consult fees and invoices in the TreyTech app and on our site.
- Card - Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover.
- ACH or bank transfer - available for project invoices and Enterprise retainers.
- Check - by prior arrangement for Enterprise engagements.
We never see or store your full card number. Card credentials are handled by our payment processor and, for Apple Pay, by a device-specific token that we cannot use elsewhere.
07 App Store & in-app subscriptions
Subscriptions purchased inside the TreyTech app are auto-renewing subscriptions sold through the App Store®.
- Payment is charged to your Apple Account at confirmation of purchase.
- The subscription renews automatically at the same price and period unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
- Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the period ends.
- Any unused portion of a free trial is forfeited when you purchase a subscription.
Because Apple is the merchant of record for these purchases, Apple handles the charge, the receipt, and any refund. Retainers and projects invoiced directly by TreyTech are billed by us, not through the App Store.
08 Managing or cancelling a subscription
- In-app subscriptions - open Settings on your iPhone® or iPad®, tap your name, then Subscriptions, and manage or cancel TreyTech there. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.
- Retainers billed by TreyTech - cancel from the Billing panel in your dashboard, or email support@treytech.biz. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
- Season subscriptions - see section 05; the committed episode count applies.
We confirm every cancellation in writing. If you do not receive confirmation within one business day, assume it did not go through and contact us.
09 Refunds
- Creative Consult fee - non-refundable, credited to your first project.
- Projects we decline, or that are not a mutual fit - full refund of the consult fee and of any deposit paid, issued within 5 business days. If we will not do the work, we do not keep the money.
- Project deposits - refundable only for work not yet started. Once production begins, completed milestones and committed pass-through costs are non-refundable.
- Retainers and season subscriptions - the current period is not refunded; cancellation stops the next charge.
- Duplicate or erroneous charges - refunded in full, promptly, no questions.
- App Store purchases - refunds are issued by Apple. Request one at reportaproblem.apple.com. We cannot refund an Apple-billed charge ourselves, but tell us and we will help.
If a deliverable misses what your agreement promised, that is a scope and quality conversation before it is a refund one - contact us and we will make it right.
10 Invoices, taxes & receipts
- Invoices and receipts are emailed and are available in the Billing panel of your dashboard.
- Amounts are in US dollars.
- Prices exclude tax. Texas sales tax and any other applicable tax is added where required by law. Tax-exempt clients should send their certificate before the first invoice.
- Receipts for App Store purchases come from Apple and appear in your Apple Account purchase history.
- Purchase orders and vendor-portal invoicing are supported for Enterprise engagements.
11 Late, failed & disputed payments
- Failed payment - we retry and notify you. Update your method in the Billing panel to resume.
- Late payment - invoices more than 15 days past due may pause production and may accrue 1.5% per month, or the maximum the law allows if lower.
- Suspension - prolonged non-payment can suspend access to deliverables, hosted work, and the app. Files are retained for 90 days after suspension.
- Chargebacks - please contact us first. A chargeback filed without contacting us pauses the engagement while it is reviewed.
12 Price changes
Fixed-fee projects are locked at the price in your agreement. Recurring prices can change with at least 30 days written notice, effective at your next renewal - you can cancel before it takes effect. Price changes to App Store subscriptions follow Apple’s notice and consent rules; a material increase requires your consent or the subscription does not renew.
13 Contracts & authorization
Projects and retainers begin from a signed agreement. Contracts are issued and signed as DocuSign envelopes; the executed copy is stored on your project record and downloadable from your dashboard. By signing, you authorize the charges described in that agreement, including recurring charges for a retainer or season subscription, until it is cancelled as described above.
You must be at least 18 and authorized to bind the paying entity. See our Age Policy.
14 Billing support
Billing questions, receipts, tax documents, cancellations, and disputes:
- Email support@treytech.biz with the subject line “Billing”
- Include your project name or invoice number - we reply within one business day.
For what we do with billing data, see our Privacy Policy.
